Summer fun!

Summer, sun and glistening snow!

After a month’s break from skiing I went to Les Deux Alpes in France. Nice to be back on snow and a new shaped half pipe. Riding the pipe from morning to midday as they closed after lunch because of the heat. The snow that was hard packed in the mornings had turned to slush by noon. The size of the glacier turned smaller by the day but the half pipe was still reshaped each morning. Impressive that they manage to keep the half pipe in such great condition despite the heat. Maybe it was that good because most of the world cup athletes were there to train. The training sessions went well, good air on my hits and good speed and power through the runs. During the last days I ran into Katrine Artz from Belgium who competed in the Sochi Olympics 2015.

After the Olympics she stopped competing and started training other riders. The day after I met her she started coaching me. She gave me points on how to get more air in the pipe and to find a better flow between the hits, all great tips that I could use straight away. I have never had my own coach, never anyone that focused 100% on my riding and development. I have always trained on my own and I’ve developed by taking advice from people that have inspired me, riders or non riders.

Katrine och I kept in contact during the summer and it didn’t take long until I was back on snow again, this time in Saas Fee, Switzerland with Katerine as my coach. To be coached and to do this together with someone who has the relevant experience is amazing. This summer has been so rewarding for my professional development and I now have a coach, that is so awesome! Wiiiieeee!!
